Marilin, an indigenous woman, was nurtured amidst the coffee plantations of Boquete. From her upbringing, she gained not only a deep understanding of the coffee-making process but also an awareness of its profound effects on the environment and indigenous communities.
Marilin pursued education, studying law in Panama City. There, she raised her daughter Lorraine, instilling in her the values of determination and environmental stewardship. Inspired by her mother's legacy and fueled by her own passion for sustainability, Lorraine embarked on a bold journey at the age of 21, forsaking urban chaos to establish Eco Horqueta, a farm dedicated to cultivating a sustainable haven. Years later, Marilin followed in her daughter's footsteps, joining forces to realize their shared vision of eco-friendly coffee production. Together, they transformed Eco Horqueta into a symbol of resilience and innovation.
