Since around the age of 18, I got caught in a cycle of doctors and medical tests, only to be repeatedly told that there is nothing wrong with me. Yet, I was experiencing pain and I was truly suffering. Antibiotics and pain relievers became a routine solution which was the only solution the modern western world medicine could provide me with.
As part of our journey across the globe, exploring entrepreneurs shaping a better world, we met with Michael Gebhardt in the Dominican Republic—a windsurfing legend, with five Olympic medals who transitioned into a mind-body wellness advocate. His transition resonated with me, sparking an interest in the connection between my surfing passion and that pain that is still accompanying me from childhood.
The link between surfing and the essence of youthfulness has always intrigued me. Perhaps it was my father's influence—a passionate windsurfer who seemed to defy the passage of time, embodying a sort of eternal Peter Pan spirit. Meeting Michael reignited this fascination within me.
His journey from athlete to holistic wellness advocate sparked a newfound curiosity about my own body. It was a perspective I hadn't considered before—a deeper exploration of how my body and mind intertwined.
This film documents a phase in our journey that is becoming deeply personal to me.
